134 Easter Basket Ideas for Kids, Teens and Adults!

Easter is coming up and I’m here to share all the Easter basket ideas you need for kids of all ages, and even teens and adults, too! I’ve developed a fool-proof formula for filling Easter baskets with items they’ll love long after the Easter bunny hops away!

I rounded up over thirty items, plus Easter baskets to put them in, and broke down ideas into different categories to make it even easier!

The Best Easter Baskets

The Easter Bunny always filled the same basket, year after year, for me as I grew up. I wanted to do the same for my son so I chose a well-made basket that would last awhile. It’s also a basket that we can use for other needs throughout the year, if we want. A few favorite basket ideas:

  1. Felt bunny basket
  2. Market basket
  3. Basket luggy
  4. House basket
  5. White wire basket
  6. Wicker bunny baskets: Large Bunny Basket, Small Bunny Basket, Gingham Bunny Basket

My Basket Filling Formula for Kids

Having a formula for anything helps it go smoother, especially something you have to do annually like filling Easter Baskets. I’ve broken down my formula into five categories: something creative, something for a collection, something practical, something edible and something seasonal.

That way, you can scale any of these for your budget. Go with one big item and make the rest from the dollar store, knock out all five categories at Target Dollar Spot and adjust each year accordingly without too much guess work. Here’s some Easter Basket ideas for each category for kids.

Something Creative

I always include something to encourage creativity. Art supplies, craft supplies or imaginary play supplies are great options for any children, from toddlers to pre-teens. Consider items like:

  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • Notepads
  • Stickers
  • Felt balls
  • Beads
  • Clay
  • Kinetic sand
  • Waterwow book
  • Cookie cutters
  • Garden tools
  • Magic wands
  • Dress up accessories
  • Play silk

Something to “Add” to a Collection

Since Easter baskets are usually filled with small items, this is a great time to add on to a collection or toy your child already has. Here are a few ideas:

That way, you’re not getting those small plastic theme-y toys and things that don’t serve much purpose beyond the day of Easter. Instead, you’ll get something that they can play with or use for much longer!

Something Practical

Kill two birds with one stone and add something “practical” in the mix, since it’s something you know you’re going to have to buy anyway. For me “practical” means:

Something to Eat

Edible items or Easter treats are always a great addition because they’re budget friendly and consumable so they won’t need to find a storage spot in your home (or end up in the trash). Candy is always an Easter staple, but the edible easter basket ideas are endless!

Something Easter Themed

And of course, it’s always fun to add something Easter themed, too. If none of the above are already themed for the season, here are a few spring and Easter-centric additions:

Something Practical

Easter Baskets are a great time to incorporate something the recipient needs, has recently run out of or could use an upgrade on. These practical items kill two birds with stones filling a need and a basket. Here’s a few ideas:

Something Edible

A treat or sweet is a staple of an Easter basket. They’re consumable, always appreciated and available at any budget. Here’s a few creative ideas for edible Easter basket fillers:

Something Seasonal

It’s always fun to stay on theme with Easter basket fillers but sometimes those small plastic Easter items just end up in the trash. Here’s a few seasonal item ideas that will last, or be consumed!

My Easter Basket Picks for Teens + Adults

Below you’ll find a few Easter Basket picks for teens and adults. I focused mostly on self care and craft-y items to help stay busy and calm during these crazy times. Some of these are “bigger ticket” items but would be super cute as the main or only feature of a teen or adult Easter Basket, alongside some sweet treats!
